It's been a while since I have posted a Prawn recipe, and I humbly dedicate this dish to our stormy weekend. There are a few Prawn recipes from my hometown which I was planning to post but kept on delaying.

The ingredients needed to make Prawn Roast:
- Prepare 500 gm Prawns
- Prepare 1 Tsp Kashmiri chilli Powder
- Get 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
- Make ready 2 Medium size Onion finely chopped
- Make ready to taste Salt
- Prepare leaves Curry
- Take Coconut oil
- Get 1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- Make ready 1 Tsp Spicy Chilli Powder
The Bengali chingri malai curry (prawns in coconut milk) comes nowhere near this one. Here is how to do prawn ghee roast. First we will grind the masala. Take all the masala ingredients in a mixie and grind it to a smooth paste.
Instructions to make Prawn Roast:
- Marinate the Prawns In turmeric,1/2 tsp Kashmiri chilli, Salt and ginger garlic paste and few curry leaves for 15 min
- In a pan add coconut oil 2/3 tbsp add curry leaves and then add the prawns cook till cooked. Let it get little roast and remove from pan
- In same pan add oil if required add the chopped onion and curry leaves and sauté till soft and color changes,then add ginger garlic paste sauté till raw smell goes. Add the dry spices with normal chilli powder and salt to taste.
- Then add the prawns and cook till all spices are mixed in prawns and serve. Pls adjust the spices accordingly.
No need to add water while grinding. Prawn Ghee Roast is a very popular dish in Mangalore. Mangalore is a famous city in Karnataka on the coast of Arabian Sea. Prawns are easily available here as it is situated in the coastal area. This is a perfect side dish with biriyani, ghee rice, roti or Malabar paratha.
