  2. Collect all the ingredients for kharvas.
  3. Firstly in a large bowl take milk and milk powder. Whisk well till the milk powder combines well without any lumps.
  4. If you have first day colostrum milk then just add 1/2 cup sugar for 2 cup colostrum milk.
  5. Now add 1 cup hung curd and mix well.
  6. Now add condensed milk and whisk smooth making sure everything is combined well.
  7. Transfer the milk mixture to a round pan.
  8. Sprinkle nutmeg powder, cardamom powder over the mixture.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil or place plate to prevent water from entering while steaming kharvas.
  10. Place the pan into a steamer with enough water. Alternatively place in the cooker without keeping the whistle.
  11. Steam for 35 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and check if the toothpick inserted comes to clean.
  12. Cool on a room temperature and refrigerate the kharvas for an hour or till it sets completely.
  13. Unmould the kharvas carefully. You can see excess water separating.
  14. Finally cut to desired pieces and serve.
